Systems change

A linear broken food system:

We are working within a broken food system. Business as usual is not good enough. Our current food system is linear and environmentally damaging. Aber Food Surplus is tackling the root cause of the problem by challenging this unsustainable system. We need to do things differently.

A circular food system :

We believe in a holistic, circular and resilient food system that is adaptable and flexible to our changing environment and provides empowering opportunities.

Food waste is a “lens” through which we can view our food system through, bring people together to talk about local issues and how we can support our local economy. We believe that ambitious, systemic change is the key to a healthier, thriving and more resilient food and economic system that is fit for everyone.

We can all contribute in different ways and make a difference as responsible global citizens and changemakers. Whether this is as individuals, as part of an organisation, in our home life, through our work, in our communities, taking action ourselves or influencing others. Let’s begin together.
