Food is life.

Let's not waste it.

Food is precious. Wasting it is bad for our pockets and bad for our planet. Aber Food Surplus is taking action to reduce food waste in Aberystwyth, redistributing surplus food among the community. Together, we can change the way Aberystwyth, Wales and the world thinks about food.

Get involved

Aber Food Surplus is run by the community for the community, involving people of all ages and backgrounds. Valuing and sharing food makes us happier, healthier and brings us closer together.

We need local people to collect surplus food, sort donations and prepare meals. So whatever your skills and interests we have a role for you!

If you’re a charity or community group in Aberystwyth, we can supply you with surplus food regularly or for a one-off event. You’ll save money and help reduce food waste.

If you’re a local supermarket or food business, we can collect surplus food from you on a regular basis. You’ll reduce your costs and stop edible food ending up in landfill.

We’re working with local schools to create and test curriculum-linked workshops and resources. Can you help us bring food waste issues to life in your classroom?

We put on regular pop up Pay As You Feel meals around the town and turn up at other events throughout the year. Take a look at our calendar to find your next event.

Donate today and help us cut food waste, bring people together, and make our town a pioneering example of food sustainability.
